The Greater Lansing Ride of Silence, co-hosted by the Tri-County Bicycle Association Advocacy Committee & MSU Bikes, is proud to announce our 19th annual event in support of the 24th Annual Global Ride of Silence, which includes 200-250 events worldwide that honor and memorialize bicyclists hit and killed or injured by motor vehicles.
START LOCATION: We will use MSU BIKES again as that worked out well in 2025:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/UvmxYbu21796Yyrr8
Parking: Plenty of free car parking options exist nearby MSU Bikes after 6 pm.
Registration will be from 5:15 to 6:15 pm at The MSU Bikes Service Center, (on the South end of Bessey Hall on the river trail of the MSU campus next to the Farm Ln. Bridge). There is no charge for this event & it will be the exclusive Tri-County Bicycle Association Wednesday night ride.
Restrooms will be available inside MSU Bikes. We will depart for the Michigan State Capitol promptly at 6:30 with police & bike patrol officers escorting us safely along the route.
A map of the route will be updated as construction on MI Ave continues, (it will be approximately 4.5 miles one way).
The proposed route is here:

There will be a brief memorial ceremony at the Capitol, unless it is raining - with options to return to MSU -or- join us after the event at Ozone's Brewhouse starting approx. 7:30 pm where we will celebrate the work of those in advocacy helping to make our roads safer for all cyclists. Plenty of bike parking around Ozone's; bring your own lock: 305 Beaver St, Lansing, MI 48906

Some of the bike patrol officers will ride back to the MSU campus area after the Capitol steps ceremony and photo session, but they will be riding faster, so plan accordingly. The Lansing River Trail is another option for a safer albeit longer way to ride back to the MSU campus without having to ride on the roads in low light.
If you're not comfortable riding in low light or after dark (or don't have lights, or have young children joining you) consider parking your car near the Capitol Bldg (where we have our ceremony and finish the silent part of the event) or at the well-lit, safe car parking at Old Town Parking (close to the Brenke Fish Ladder):

** HELMETS REQUIRED!**
** Lights and bright clothing are highly recommended for the ride home.
VEHICLE PARKING NEAR MSU BIKES: This Google doc will show you all the options.
