The ride. This will be the first Tour of Greater Lansing. Doug Nevitt, a TCBA member who lives in Grand Ledge, created the route a couple of years ago. The 97-mile route starts in Grand Ledge and circles Lansing, passing through Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Mason, Williamston, Haslett, Bath, and DeWitt, before returning to Grand Ledge. This “Z” ride starts at Sawdon, the Grand Ledge Schools Administration Building, at 8:00 a.m. Directions to Sawdon follow below.
Two routes. You can ride 97 miles or a shorter, 55-mile route to Eaton Rapids. The two rides will run together for the first 27 miles. In Eaton Rapids, the two routes will split. Those riding the shorter route will return to Grand Ledge. The century riders will continue circling Lansing.
Food. Food and water can be purchased in any of the towns through which the ride passes.
Directions to Start. The ride starts in Grand Ledge. From the intersection of M-43 and M-100 in Grand Ledge, drive west on M-43. At the 1st traffic light (Jenne), turn right. Drive 0.6 miles north on Jenne. The parking lot for the Administration Building (Sawdon) will be on your right.
